The method of peer education plays an important role in the project and is an essential part of the traveling exhibition experience. Groups of student visitors are guided through the exhibition by a person in their own age group, i.e. peer-to-peer education. This is beneficial for a) the young guide (trained by local partner organization trainers before the exhibition opens in their hometown), who will learn more about the subject of the exhibition when in the position to transmit knowledge, and will learn how to present this subject matter to groups efficiently and convincingly. It is also beneficial for b) the students visiting, as such an approach interrupts the pattern of “old teachers” and “young pupils” and makes the students more likely to be interested in the subject when it is “recommended” by someone of the same or similar age.
